Everybody understands absolute crucial nature of having a sound night’s sleep. The problem, however, is falling asleep early enough to clock in those required hours. After spending a full day at work with the constant pressure of performing at the top of your abilities, it is difficult to switch off the intensity immediately. Thankfully there are ways to help your body get the rest it needs, and naturally at that. Here are some drinks that can help you get the beauty sleep you so deserve:

Soy Milk

While the jury might be divided on the benefits of warm milk in helping people sleep, research says that soy has all the necessary chemicals that aid sleep. Loaded with tryptophan, soy milk is proven to help individuals sleep better. A 2010 study in Sao Paulo found that soy can help older women sleep better. This is essentially due to the isoflavones present in soy.

Coconut Water

This all-natural drink is not only delicious but also a great way to help you get ready for bed. Coconut water is rich in magnesium. It is important to note that magnesium can help your muscles relax and helps ease the tension through your body. It does not have any sugar which means that there will be no sugar rush to keep you up. You can also try coconut milk which has been gently warmed to help you get ready for bed.

Banana Shake

Banana is loaded with magnesium and, as mentioned above, magnesium is crucial in helping your body get the rest it deserves. It is important to note that if you saturate your banana milkshake with too much milk and sugar it is only going to work against the idea of getting enough sleep. Instead, add a pinch of cardamom. Cardamom has been used by Ayurveda for millennia to cure insomnia and is associated with restful sleep in cultures across the world.

Cherry Juice

Cherries are found to be rich in melatonin, the sleep hormone. Having a glass of cherry juice in the morning and topping it off with another glass at night can be the perfect means of finding yourself the rest you require. Just make sure you are not going for one of those off the rack juices that are full of sugar and artificial preservatives because they will definitely not allow you to get a restful sleep.

Valerian Root Tea

Valerian Root, also known as Tagar in Hindi, is known to be a good sedative. It is used widely in Ayurvedic products and helps relieve pain as well. There is, however, a caveat to drinking valerian root tea, too much of it regularly can become addictive so make sure you give yourself a break from it now and then by alternating it with any of the above-mentioned drinks.
