Not drinking enough water leads to dehydration, and even at low levels, dehydration can affect body functions, making you feel tired, sluggish, and irritable. Keeping your body hydrated is one simple way to increase energy levels – and it really does not need to be sports drinks or vitamin water. Drinking fresh water throughout the day will keep you active without adding any extra calories.

Does water give you energy? It certainly does. However, you need to understand how much water is enough for you and what other ways are there to help you keep hydrated. Ideally, you should drink no less than eight glasses of water every day – you need more though when you are pregnant, working out, sweating a lot, or breastfeeding. Just be sure to keep drinking some fluid throughout the day and do not wait until you feel thirsty because being thirsty usually means you are already slightly dehydrated.
