Today, we are glad to feature  Shankar Ramanan From Unisys.

     1. Tell us something fun and unique about yourself. 

I am a very simple man and i never take things very seriously. I always try to keep my  mind calm at all times. I strongly believe in “where there is a will, there is a way.” I believe that a healthy body makes a healthy mind. Both go hand in hand. I’m very talkative and i end up having long discussions with friends when “health” becomes the point of discussion. I love to try out a variety of food routines to see what suits my lifestyle.

As a hobby (or more of an addiction now), I travel quite a lot on my motorcycle and i always like to explore new places and meet new people. During my travel, food habits and daily routine changes. In order to stay healthy and continue my journey without issues, I follow a routine that helps me be on the run. Some days, a porridge and a heavy breakfast will help to me stay energetic throughout the day. I always ensure to drink enough water when the body asks for it.

 

  1. Who is your greatest inspiration in life, and why?

My inspiration has always been our Late Former President of India, Mr. APJ Abdul Kalam sir. He sets an example on how simple one should be at all times.

 

  1. What is your health goal?

I want to keep things simple in life, have a simple meal, drink enough water, get an hour of workout done each day, take a walk.  I ensure that i eat every meal of the day and don’t miss out on that. I have a hearty breakfast, an average lunch, some juices in between and a light and early dinner. I ensure to complete the last meal of the day at least 3 hours before getting to bed.

 

  1. On a scale of 1-10, how well would you rate your habit?

I would rate myself 7 out of 10.

 

  1. What is the healthiest habit that you possess?

Getting enough sleep is one of my healthy habits. I am still making improvements to my daily routine and this is one important habit that I have been practicing. Having enough sleep is as good as to keep oneself recharged and fresh for a new day.

  1. How were you introduced to zoojoo.be?

I work for Unisys. I got introduced to Zoojoobe at work.

 

  1. How is zoojoo.be helping you with your health goals?

I get to keep track of all that I do on a regular basis. Practicing small activities like drinking water, avoiding coffee/aerated drinks, eating right, going for a walk/jog, exercising regularly, etc. become a habit over a period of time.

 

  1. What would be your message to the people who are struggling to reach their health goals?

Keep the health plan simple.

Always consult a physical instructor/gym trainer to plan your diet and a workout schedule.

Experiment with different food routines to see what suits the lifestyle.

Avoid junk food (once a while is ok, but not regular).

Avoid cigarettes as they drain out all the energy from you. (Well, I am a former smoker, hence I tend to advice a lot to all those who smoke)

Avoid using any kind of machinery to do your daily chores at home. Keep away from technology and try doing some household things the old and manual way, e.g. mopping the floor by hand, instead of using anything else. Washing clothes by hand instead of the washing machine is also very helpful. Also, I would  like to thank you for giving me this opportunity to let everyone know how important it is to be healthy.
