“Badam khalo beta, tumhara dimag tez chalega”, an expression we’ve been hearing since our childhood from our mothers and grandmothers. And for a matter of fact what they have been saying all these years does have a merit. It is not only the “dimag joh tez chalega” but many others benefits as well. Almonds have an impressive nutrient profile. 1 ounce of almonds has 3.5 grams of fiber, 14 grams of fats out of which 9 of them are monounsaturated fats. In addition, you will be delighted to find out that a small ounce of almonds includes 12 per cent of daily required proteins with hardly any cholesterol, needless to say.

As mentioned above monounsaturated fats, proteins present in the almonds are the nutrients that make way for a healthy heart. While the Vitamin E present in the almond reduces the risk of heart the magnesium helps avoid it. In addition, a Loma Linda School of Public Health study said that 50% of reduction in risk of heart attack was observed in individuals who consumed almonds 5 times a week.

Almond is not only beneficial for adult skin but it is also beneficial for the newborn babies. Almond oil is one of the best recommended oil for the massage of new born babies. Almond is also known for its ability to improve the complexion which justifies its presence in many beauty soaps in the form of almond milk.

5. The Constipation Solution

As the fact goes, consumption of fiber rich foods helps in preventing constipation. In the same way, being a nut rich in fiber (3.5 grams in one ounce) everyday consumption will help you prevent constipation and give you a relief. 4-5 almonds are more than enough to keep the bowels running smoothly, however, do not forget to drink at least 10 glasses of water every day.
